San Diego, CA

Now I know we just went to Mexico last weekend, but since I had a week off between jobs, we knew we should take advantage of my time off. We knew we wanted California because we were in desperate need of some warmth, so off to San Diego we went.
We took the first flight in on Friday and headed straight to La Jolla. We ate a delicious brunch with tangerine mimosas at The Cottage La Jolla and then went to the beach. We ended up stumbling upon a yoga photo-shoot and a beach full of seals!

Next, we had to head to Torrey Pines to scope out one of the most famous golf courses in the US. The course was really beautiful and Jason has vowed to return and play it soon! When we were in the area, we found the Torrey Pines State Reserve with some awesome hiking trails and beach that we knew we had to return to the next morning.

Once we checked into our hotel, we went to Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill for some AWESOME fish tacos!

The next morning, we went straight to the spot we had found the day before - Torrey Pines. The hike/run was tough, but the views were absolutely insane. Between that and the temperature, we are starting to wonder why we don't live in California!? And yes, we climbed from the beach!

After we washed up, we walked around Old Town San Diego. Jason found his favorite pizza of all time at Pizza Bella. Old Town was cute with all of the old timey buildings, but it honestly reminded me of the old west section at a Six Flags. Meh.

We had to see the oldest mission in California so we drove to Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala. It was a short little trip, but we were glad we stopped in.

Our last stop of the day was at Pacific Beach. We grabbed a beer at Amplified Ale Works and soaked up the last bit of California sun. San Diego was amazing and one of our favorite places we've visited in the US. It was a perfectly chill weekend which is definitely what we needed!

Since I started a new job this past Monday, our trips will be fairly limited in the coming months. I do have some trips to St. Louis, Albuquerque and Oklahoma City planned to see family and friends.

Hopefully we can fit in a quick weekend trip for Jason and I (and even the pup)?
